Workflow Guide
In the dental manufacturing industry, it is crucial to quickly receive data from dental clinics and efficiently schedule the production of dental braces. This can create a positive cycle for both the clients and the patients in multiple aspects. From quality assurance for customers, from comfort to meet the needs of patients. RayForm offers a complete set of industrial automation 3D printing technology systems for invisible orthodontic solutions, helping dental factories increase production and enhance production efficiency.
Here, we will introduce to you the entire process of batch automated production of invisible orthodontic appliances in a dental factory, from receiving the data to printing the dental molds, then to the membrane cutting and shaping of the molds, and finally to delivering the orthodontic appliances to the patients.
Rayform has developed three cost-effective and high-performance 3D printing resin materials specifically for invisible orthodontic dental models. High-temp resistant dental model resin, Water-washable dental model resin, No-rinse dental model resin. Meet the printing needs of dental models in various scenarios of dental factories.
RayForm independently developed 3D printer automation production system can efficiently and in large quantities print and manufacture dental models designed by dentists with high precision. Through the automated equipment solution, it can meet the requirements of clear orthodontic appliance membrane pressing, shaping and final production.
Printing the dental model is an important step in the invisible orthodontic workflow. After receiving the treatment design models prepared by various dental clinics and dental hospitals, the dental factory can operate using our RayForm model software and RayForm automated 3D printer. Next, we will show you the steps involved in printing the dental model.
1.1 Import Dental Models Into RayForm Software
Import the designed dental model files of the dental clinic and dental hospital into the RayForm 3D software(used for model layout). Adult dental models can reach up to 24, and children’s dental models can reach up to 30. (Because of RayForm 3D printer super-large build volume).
1.2 Dental Model Automatic Layout
Click on the layout, and the software will automatically arrange it. print orientation/angulation is an important printing factor. We recommend printing the models horizontally (flat on print-platform) to get the best and the most accurate result
1.3 Small Number Of Dental Models Printing
If you have a small number of dental models, we recommend using the RF-4030 3D Printer, RF-3020D desktop 3D printer, or contact us for further advice.
1.4 Export Completed Layout Model
Next, export the layouts model. Here, you can build multiple model layouts based on the number of platforms on the RayForm 3D printer, such as RF-8800 support four sets models.
Printing the dental model is a crucial step in the process of making invisible orthodontic braces. The success and accuracy of the printing process are particularly important. Next, we will show you the specific steps for printing the dental model.
1.5 Import RayForm 3D Printer
Next, We imported the model into the RayForm 3D printer RF-8800 system.
1.6 Selection Import Dental Model
Open the RayForm software(work on 3D Printer) and select the prepared dental model file format (3D Object), waiting for the file to loading. The loading time will vary depending on the size of the model file.
1.7 Automatically Displays Slicing Effect
After loading is complete, will display model layer quantity, the tooth model will automatically be displayed in slice mode. Click “PRINT” and the device will perform a self-check.
1.8 Printing Dental Model
After the self-checking process is completed, the device interface will display the printing work information, model layer quantity, time and progress.
1.9 Post-processing of Dental Models
The RayForm 3D Printer has an automatic demolding function or group control function connects to more RayForm 3D printers . Then, the dental models need to post-processing(Cleaning and Curing). At this point, we obtain the dental models of each patient (with pre-assigned information)
Note: Purchase a RayForm 3D printer RF-8800 and receive a 230,000 uw/cm² curing device for free. Curing takes only 4 minutes.
Note: Detection of Dental Model Accuracy
Larger the green area, the closer the printed dental model will be to the actual data of the design model. (Power by 3D Geomagic ControlTM)
The dental invisible orthodontic industry usually requires the green area to account for 80%, while the green area in the dental models produced by the RayForm equipment can exceed 95%.
Automated invisible orthodontic process steps. After obtaining an accurate dental model, it is placed in the automated equipment for automatic membrane pressing of the dental model, information recognition and marking, and automatic cutting to obtain Clear aligners.
2.1 Automated Membrane Pressing
Place the dental model into the automatic membrane pressing equipment, which will automatically adjust its position. Then, under high temperature, the transparent membrane will be quickly pressed onto the dental model.
Tip: prevent deformation under high temperatures, RayForm has specially developed a high-temperature resistant dental resin material.
2.2 Dental Model Information Marking
After the automatic membrane pressing process, the dental model is sent to the information recognition marking device, where the customer information is printed on the transparent dental cap.
2.3 Automatic Cutting
Finally, it is adsorbed by the robotic hand and undergoes automatic cutting. Here, equipment connection can be performed, allowing for the quick processing of multiple transparent dental braces.
2.4 Orthodontic Braces and Dental Model
Then the dental factory removed the cut-out tooth models and separated the Clear Aligners, and classified them.
2.5 Finished Product Display
Finally, after being polished smooth by hand or machine, got the accurate Clear Aligners
Process Engineer Tips:
1, Throughout the entire work process, medical masks and nitrile gloves must be worn to avoid direct contact between the resin material and the human body.
2, Before using the equipment, check the platform and ensure that the liquid level reading is normal.
3, Do not frequently open the lid during the operation of the 3D printer.
4, If you encounter any problems, please contact us immediately. We will do our best to assist you.
RayForm offers customers the most comprehensive services, ranging from fully compatible material development support to equipment automation solutions, making it easier for customers to achieve efficient and successful printing.
